I personally do not want to see any more changes to the sport of football involving the rules of the game on the field when it comes to this issue. I believe that we do need to protect the players from long term life changing injury when they are in a clear concussive state, but I do not want to see the sport of football changed. The players that have made it to the NFL that have to deal with this issue have known the risk of playing this sport for a long time, and it is the sport they love. I guarantee they care about their own personal safety, but at the same time they don't want to find themselves playing a different sport than they grew up watching. Keep players who have taken big blows that may look concussive out of the game when it happens, but let them play the game how it is now when they have the chance of being on the field, playing the sport that allows them to make a living. If change is to be made, it needs to be off the field with the concussion protocol. If players are rushed back onto the field too quickly after taking a concussive hit, the teams doing it should be fined for violating protocol. There are a lot of players in the NFL who are competitive to the point where the decision of them playing or not should not be in there hands because they will go back onto the field every time. Teams need to accept the responsibility of protecting their players, and realize that the quality of life that these players live in the future could be in their hands.
